Agricultural Properties Manager

After working as an LSU AgCenter County Agent for 10 years and spending five years overseeing commercial vegetable and livestock operations for large Louisiana farms, Louis Lirette joined A. Wilbert's Sons with valuable experience and a passion for agriculture.

Now an Agriculture Properties Manager, Louis manages budgets, lease negotiation, and qualified operator selection in addition to providing technical assistance and agricultural land improvement analysis, design, and implementation on all AWS agricultural properties. He also prepares and assists with the creation of capital outlay plans and other business-related analysis of existing and new agricultural opportunities.

Louis earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Louisiana State University, which thoroughly prepared him for a life dedicated to the improvement of Louisiana agriculture. "I love having the ability to apply years of practical knowledge and skills in an operational setting on a large scale, surrounded by professionals in each applicable field that we work in."

Additionally, Louis has earned the National Association of County Agricultural Agents Achievement Award and he and his wife were appointed to the National Pork Producers Delegate Body as Louisiana's delegates in 2017. Always active in his passions, Louis is also a member of the American Sugarcane League, Iberville Farm Bureau, Iberville Stockshow Boosters, and the Iberville 4-H Foundation.

Louis has been married to his wife, Rebecca, for 15 years. The couple and their two children, Luke and Garrett, are very involved in 4-H and enjoy showing dairy goats, chickens, and rabbits. Much of their time is spent outside working with the animals, in the garden, or enjoying the weather.
